Pamela and Douglas Soltis are distinguished professors at the Florida Museum of Natural History, and principal investigators in the UF Laboratory of Molecular Systematics and Evolutionary Genetics (Soltis Lab), as well as contributing authors of the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group.

They are major contributors to the development of the Tree of Life, an online phylogenetic taxonomy project including 2.3 million species. The Tree of Life can help researchers cure diseases, develop medicines, improve agricultural crops, and predict how plants and animals are going to move in response to climate change.
