Transfer To UF
The process for transferring to UF is:
- Obtain admission to UF.
- After admission, your academic department will submit a New International Student Request for you in the International Center’s portal.
- You will receive an initial email from UFIC instructing you to complete the New International Student Request Form online.
- After you submit the New International Student Request Form, EVS will review it within 7 business days.
- Prior to approving your transfer, your EVS advisor may email you to request additional information/documentation.
- You will be asked to provide the UF Transfer-In Form.
- Your EVS advisor will coordinate with your current university to facilitate your SEVIS record transfer to UF.
- Your EVS advisor will inform you about how to access your UF DS-2019 and next steps in the check-in process.
Required Documents
To request a transfer, you and an immigration advisor at your current institution must complete the UF Transfer-In Form.
- This form is required to confirm the logistics of the SEVIS transfer.
- You must complete the top portion and sign at the bottom of the page.
- The RO/ARO at your current US institution must complete the “Current Program Sponsor Information.”
- Your UF program must begin the semester immediately after you complete the last semester at your current institution.
- For example, if your last semester at your current institution is Spring, then you must start your UF program in the Summer semester.
- The only exception is if you are participating in Academic Training. It must continue until your transfer date to UF.
If your current institution requires additional forms be completed by EVS for the transfer process, you are welcome to email these forms to your EVS advisor or provide your EVS advisor's email to your current immigration advisor. EVS will only be able to complete the forms after EVS has reviewed and approved your transfer application.
