End of F-1 Status

Situation

The student has had a change from F-1 status to another type of visa or immigration status.

If the F-1 student receives approval for U.S. permanent residency, or changes to another visa category (such as H1-B, J-1, F-2, etc.), we need to be notified to ensure the F-1 SEVIS record is completed or terminated appropriately.

Documents Necessary:

  • Change to Permanent Resident – Copy of Permanent Resident Card
  • Change of another visa category – Copy of new visa or Change of Status approval notice and new I-94 record

Once you have the required documents, please submit the End Student Status request and upload your document(s) showing proof of your new status.
