The University of Florida main campus is located on 2,000 acres in Gainesville, Florida. Home to 50,000 students, UF’s student body represents the highest number of international students in Florida and includes students with backgrounds spanning 140 countries. UF values its partner institutions and has fostered ongoing partnerships for decades. The UF International Center is committed to upholding partnership terms and serving its student needs.

The UF International Center liaises with many other departments/units on campus to ensure successful paticipation in the UF Exchange program of the incoming exchange students. This includes coordination with Academic Units, Bursar, Health Compliance/Services, Housing, Office of the University Registrar, and the Division of Student Affairs. Exchange Students are not required to pay tuition to UF. Agreements with UF’s partner institutions allow students to pay tuition to their home institution instead.

Exchange Student Services serves to address the onboarding needs of Exchange Students in two-fold: 1. Becoming Affiliatiated with the University of Florida and 2. Obtaining Appropriate Visa Sponsorship.

Exchange Students most first be nominated from their home institution. Once a formal nomination is submitted and confirmed, students will receive email instructions to create an account through UF’s application platform. The nomination confirmation process may take up to a week.

Exchange Students’ main contact at UF will initially by the Coordinator for Exchange Student Services, Carolyn Cesarotti. The Exchange Coordinator serves as both immigration advisor and liaison with various UF offices to ensure exchange students’ success in becoming obtaining the appropriate visa sponsorship and becoming affiliated with UF.
