International Student Achievement Awards Ceremony

The International Student Achievement Awards, held on March 24, 2026, celebrated the exceptional accomplishments and global impact of international students across the University of Florida. Coordinated by Victoria Dolce, Associate Director of International Student Support & Engagement, the event highlighted students who exemplify academic excellence, leadership, and meaningful contributions to campus and community life.

The ceremony featured remarks from Dean Marta L. Wayne and keynote speaker Berta Esperanza Hernández-Truyol, Stephen C. O’Connell Chair and Professor of Law, who underscored the importance of global perspectives in higher education.

Among the evening’s top honors, the Alec Courtelis Awards for Outstanding Ph.D. Students recognized:

Mikerly Mistral Joseph (Haiti), Sujin Park (South Korea), Thacher Loutin (Jamaica), Isabela Thebaldi (Brazil), Daniel Antonio Hernández Castillo (Chile), and Ana María Garrido Corredor (Colombia).

Outstanding Master’s and Professional Student Awards were presented to Savitha Saikumar (India), Xianyi Li (China), Joshita Arora (India), and Uthra Madhavan (India).

Outstanding Undergraduate International Student Awards honored Maria Fernanda Alves de Moura (Brazil), Maria Corina Serfaty (Venezuela), Viet Minh Khoa Vo (Vietnam), Silvana Noriega Saravia (Colombia), Yansheng Luo (China), and Arianna Campbell (Jamaica).

Each UF college also recognized its outstanding international students across a wide range of disciplines.

Together, these students represent the diversity, talent, and innovation that define UF’s international community. The awards continue to highlight how international students enrich the university through scholarship, service, and a shared commitment to global engagement.
