Tuesday, November 12, 2019 - 2:30pm to 3:30pm
Turlington Hall Room 3310

The lecture by Dr. Oscar Mazzoleni will focus on the border issues in right-wing populist strategies. Although this linkage is rarely considered by scholarship, one might argue the construction of new borders, bridging anti-immigration stances and sovereignty claim, is part of a global trend. In order to highlight this argument, some Western and Central European as well as recent U.S. experiences will be addressed.

Dr. Mazzoleni is a professor of political science at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and currently Visiting Scholar at Columbia University.
