Mabel Cardec

Manager, Communications

Mabel Cardec is the Communications Manager at the UF International Center, where she leads marketing and communications efforts to promote the internationalization of the UF campus and increase the visibility of UFIC’s services. She works closely with the Dean, providing scriptwriting, video production support, and guidance on communications policies. She has worked at UFIC since 2006.

Mabel is the publisher of UFIC’s weekly e-newsletter, UF Global, which reaches more than 4,000 subscribers and helps elevate UF’s profile as a leading international academic institution. She produces UFIC’s annual reports and marketing publications, oversees social media strategy, and coordinates campus-wide events such as International Education Week, Fulbright activities, and the Global Culture Photo Competition.

In 2024, she participated in her first Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) program as a participant and co-marketing coordinator, supporting cross-institutional collaboration with international partners. Most recently, she managed UFIC’s website migration to TERMINALFOUR (T4), ensuring consistent branding, security, and accessibility.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Mabel holds a B.A. in Public Communications from the University of Puerto Rico, an M.Ed. in Education from Florida Atlantic University, and an M.A. in Spanish from the University of Florida.
