Check-In

Welcome to the University of Florida!   

As a student on a J-1 visa, you must complete the EVS check-in process at the beginning of your program.   

This process is separate from any other new student orientations hosted by the Graduate School or your academic department.  

Part 1

Online Check-In Application  

 

  • Must be submitted within six days of arrival in the US*.  
  • Must provide proof of valid health insurance for any J-2 dependents with a DS-2019, regardless of whether they are in the United States.

*Transferring to UF from another US institution? You will receive information about the check-in process when your transfer is approved. You must complete the check-in application prior to your transfer date and attend orientation.

 

Part 2

 

Mandatory Check-In Orientation  

 

  • Held via Zoom shortly before the start of classes.  
  • You will be informed of the date and time well in advance. Please continue to regularly check your UF email for updates.  
  • You must complete the orientation before applying for a Social Security Number. Find more information about Social Security number eligibility and the application process.
  • Following orientation, you must clear any remaining registration holds on your ONE.UF account.
