Hatice Kubra Karakis
Data Analyst
Hatice Kubra Karakis is originally from Türkiye and is a Ph.D. student in the Research and Evaluation Methodology (REM) program in the College of Education at the University of Florida (UF). She holds a bachelor's degree in Gifted Education from Istanbul University and a master's degree in REM from UF. Prior to graduate school, Kubra worked as an elementary school teacher in Türkiye and taught gifted students in her classroom. Since joining UF, she has worked as a research assistant in the Virtual Learning Lab and continues to contribute to the Storiza project, a generative AI-powered reading application designed to support children's reading development. She has also served as an instructor for the Measurement and Evaluation course.
At the UF Office of Global Learning, Kubra will work as a Data Analyst, supporting data collection, survey administration, and quantitative data analysis. She will also collaborate with faculty across the UF campus on global learning initiatives. Her research experience includes quantitative methods, measurement, and assessment, and her interests include artificial intelligence, data science, measurement, and evaluation. In her free time, Kubra enjoys discovering new places and experiences, exploring music in its many forms, spending time in nature, and watching anime and movies.
