Peace Corps Prep Program
Students who are enrolled in the ISP have the option of co-enrolling in the Peace Corps Prep program. Peace Corps Prep is a certificate program for undergraduates with a focus on gaining the international collaborative skills that make a successful Peace Corps volunteer. The Peace Corps Prep program will prepare students for international development fieldwork and potential Peace Corps service by building competencies through international coursework, hands-on experience, and professional development support.
Students must be enrolled in the International Scholars Program (ISP) to co-enroll in PC Prep.
PC Prep Requirements:
- Complete 3 sector-specific courses
- Complete 50 hours of hands-on experience in the selected sector
- Complete 3 approved intercultural competence courses or experiences
- Receive résumé feedback and interview preparation from a Peace Corps Recruiter
- Demonstrate leadership experience (i.e., student orgs, work, volunteer, etc.)
The Peace Corps has six sectors. To participate in the Peace Corps Prep Program, the first step is to choose a sector. You will then take courses and complete hands-on experiences that align with your chosen sector. Explore each sector and their requirements below.
