Double-Gator and renowned Florida architect Mario Cartaya will speak about his book, Journey Back Into the Vault: In Search of My Faded Cuban Childhood Footprints on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 5:30 pm in the Pugh Hall Ocora. Cartaya was born into a middle-class family in Havana, Cuba. He and his family immigrated to Florida, and eventually he enrolled at UF. He founded the Fort Lauderdale-based Cartaya and Associates Architects, and has served as a presidential advisor on Cuba policy.
