UF students collaborated with peers at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) to analyze a counseling case study and designed an intervention using solution-focused brief counseling techniques. Students from both universities worked in small groups to apply the knowledge they learned through recorded lectures and readings.
1. Students will expand their cultural awareness and cultural competence by working on cross-cultural teams.
2. Students will understand the utility of brief solution-focused counseling techniques to support clients/students in community agencies and schools.
3. Students will apply their knowledge and skills by analyzing a case study and creating a case that would benefit from solution-focused brief counseling techniques.
