The PAIR award selects personalities that contribute to celebrating, fostering and promoting Italian-American relations and inspire others with their work. The 2019 edition awarded Ilaria Capua, Director of the One Health Center of Excellence at the University of Florida for the category Science and Technology; Mark Thompson, CEO of the New York Times Corporation for the category Human, Social, Literary and Economical Sciences; and Giuseppe Tornatore, Academy Award 1990 winner as movie director for the category Arts and Culture.
