Bianca Punch and Karen Coker, PhD Public Health students in the Department of Environmental and Global Health, invite you to participate in an academic experience based on the theme of climate justice and health equity sponsored by the American Public Health Association: Center for Climate, Health, and Equity. The experience will occur in September during APHA’s 150 Anniversary monthly theme, “Protecting the Environment to Protect our Health.”

The first part of the experience will be a zoom webinar on September 29th, 2022 from 3-5 pm with a panel composed of four professionals from Africa, the Caribbean, and the Diaspora. Climate change disproportionately affects communities in the Caribbean, Africa, and across the rest of the Black diaspora. This webinar is an opportunity to highlight and amplify the voices, work, and research being done in these regions related to climate justice and health equity to inspire action to go beyond the conversation. The aim is to provide an academic experience for the UF audience to engage and critically think about climate justice and health equity.
