The Center for Global Islamic Studies will host an online lecture with Dr. Anna Bigelow (Stanford) on "Courts of the Saint: Judicial Rulings and Muslim Belonging in India". This online lecture will be moderated by Dr. Ali Mian from the Dept. of Religion.
Dr. Bigelow is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies specializing in Islamic Studies and the religions of South Asia and the Middle East. Her work focuses on Muslim devotional life, especially sacred spaces and ritual practice. Her selected publications include Islam through Objects (Bloomsbury Academic, 2021) and Sharing the Sacred: Practicing Pluralism in Muslim North India (Oxford University Press, 2010).
