Every two years the Club of Bologna under the sponsorship of FederUnacoma, the Italian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Association, awards the Pellizzi Prize for the worldwide best Ph.D. dissertation in the area of agricultural machinery and mechanization. Dr. Hao Gan, who received his Ph.D. under the direction of Prof. Won-Suk "Daniel" Lee in UF's Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, was announced as the latest winner on October 22nd in Bologna. This is the third consecutive former UF student to win the award. The three winners were UF international students from Iran, South Korea, and China and are now assistant professors at the University of California-Davis, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Tennessee.
