Letter Request
Exchange Visitor Services (EVS) can provide letters to verify J status, verify standard UF expenses, or to invite family members to the U.S. We also provide a graduation-specific invitation.
To request a letter, please email to evs@ufic.ufl.edu your information (allow 3-5 business days to process).
Form DS-2019 Amendment Request
J-1 students must review the information below and email their EVS advisor to request a change to their program and Form DS-2019.

DS-2019 Extension Request |
Students who are unable to complete their degree requirements before the program end date printed on their Form DS-2019 may request an extension. The request must be submitted emailed to the advisor at least 30 days before the current program end date, by emailing your EVS Advisor. Any J-2 dependents automatically receive an extension at the same time. Eligibility

Reprint |
Students who need a reprinted Form DS-2019 for themselves or any J-2 dependents. Any J-2 dependents automatically receive a reprint at the same time. Reasons for reprinting a Form DS-2019 may be to receive a new travel signature, or replace one that has been damaged, lost, or stolen. NOTE: For travel signatures, please drop off the current Form DS-2019(s) at the EVS office if possible. |
Update Financial Information |
Students are required to report any changes to their funding, including the amount and source(s). Required Documents

Add a New Dependent |
Students may add a spouse or unmarried children under age 21 as a J-2 dependent, allowing them to stay with the J-1 exchange visitor in the U.S. To request a J-2 DS-2019 form when the J-1 student is already in the U.S., the J-1 student must submit a request in the International Center’s portal. The following materials will be required:

Remove a Dependent |
If any J-2 dependents voluntarily end or legally become ineligible for J-2 status, their Form DS-2019 must be canceled. Please email your EVS advisor to request cancellation of your dependent’s DS-2019. Potential reasons to remove a J-2 dependent:
