The University of Florida requires health insurance for all UF students.
UF Sponsored Plan for all Undergraduate and Graduate Students: United HealthCare Insurance
On the UnitedHealthcare StudentResources website, students will be able to see full details of coverage, prices, and be able to enroll online. If a student has questions, contact the Local Servicing Agent, HUB International at 352-377-2002.
Fulbright Students will be automatically enrolled in the school-sponsored plan (United Healthcare) as your Fulbright insurance does not meet UF’s requirements.
It is the responsibility of the J-1 students to ensure they always maintain proper health insurance for themselves and any J-2 dependents within the program start and end dates stated on Form DS-2019. Even if you are a J1 or J2 visa holder who is physically based outside of the United States with an active DS2019.

Other Health Insurance Plans:
Please visit the UF Health Compliance Office for more information.
- What if I do not have health insurance?
The Health Compliance Office is proceeding with the Mandatory Health Insurance requirement as an Opt-Out system where students who don't opt out by providing documentation of accepted health insurance will be automatically enrolled in the school-sponsored UHCSR plan.
- What if I do NOTHING before the deadline?
Students that take no action will be auto-enrolled in the school-sponsored UHCSR plan, and a charge will be placed on their ONE.uf account according to specific semester deadlines. Students will not be able to appeal this charge after the Insurance Waiver Deadline has passed. For students that have comparable health insurance coverage, please submit the waiver PRIOR to the deadline, and if accepted, and the charge will be removed.
If a student has further questions, please contact UF Student Health Care Center's (SHCC) Health Compliance Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 352-294-2925.
