Online Application 

Prospective Exchange Students receive access to the UF International Center (UFIC) online application platform after home universities submit a student nomination. Exchange Student Services (ESS) will guide prospective exchange students through the online application, called “New Exchange Student Request.” This process requires a number of materials including documents necessary for appropriate US visa status (J1 Status) and those required for UF non-degree student record set-up.

Using the Application Platform: Logging into the application platform is the easiest way to review all instructions. Upon submission of the online applications, if materials are missing or insufficient, students will be contacted to request revised documents and re-submit in the online platform.

Application Status Information
Accepted/Committed Exchange Student nomination has been submitted and prospective Exchange Student applicant has access to their online application.
Submitted Prospective Exchange Student has completed and submitted their online application.
In-Process pplication materials have been approved. Advisor currently processing acceptance materials.
Processed Acceptance materials have been shipped to Home University.

Application Requirements
The following documents are required to be submitted in English or with accompanying translations. Additional instructions are included within the online platform.
Immigration Status Requirements
  • Proof of Financial Support in the amount of $2300/month of the program; Certificate of Financial Responsibility required only if funding support from parent, family, or sponsor
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency; Completion Required by Home Institution via nomination
  • Copy of Passport biographical-data page; (passport validity for at least six months after program end-date)
UF Student Requirements
  • Academic Report Request Signature Document
  • Course Request List
  • Non-Degree Student Registration
  • Most recent Home University Transcripts
  • Housing Interest Questionnaire (if interested)

To be submitted after UF Gatorlink access:

  • Health Insurance Waiver
  • Immunization Form

 Acceptance Packets

The DS-2019 form and all other acceptance packet information will be available to students digitally, once their applications have been reviewed and fully processed. Students can expect Acceptance Packets to be issued 2-4 weeks from the time of application approval, and will be emailed with notification of issuance.

Upon acceptance, Exchange Students can begin to follow the steps required to apply for their J-1 Visa. Simultaneously, they can finalize their UF student record set-up and continue pre-registration requirements.
