Dr. Antunes serves as a Coordinator in the Office of Global Research Engagement (OGRE) at the University of Florida International Center (UFIC), where she manages the Global Fellows Program and supports early‑career faculty in launching international research projects through seed funding, strategic advising, and institutional resources. She brings more than 15 years of experience across industry and academia, grounded in communications, stakeholder engagement, and interdisciplinary research development.

She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Geography from the University of Florida, a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Brazil, professional certificates in international corporate communications from Syracuse University, and a GIS certificate from UF. This interdisciplinary background shapes her approach to building research collaborations that connect disciplines, regions, and institutions. Before transitioning to higher education, she led stakeholder engagement strategies, communications programs, outreach initiatives, and corporate relations across sectors, including energy, mining, oil and gas, logistics, and cosmetics. This industry experience continues to inform her academic work, where she integrates strategic communication and global insight into research development.

At UFIC, Dr. Antunes draws on her expertise in geography, research development, and institutional relations to help faculty build international partnerships, identify external funding opportunities, and navigate the institutional landscape of global research. Through OGRE, she advances international research engagement by connecting new and existing research teams and serving as a liaison to UF departments, centers, and offices conducting and overseeing international research.
