Title:
Exploring Lesson Planning Across Cultures
Project Description:

Students compare lesson plans created for contexts in which they will teach English and share key similarities and differences.

 

Learning Outcomes:

1) Students will be able to analyze how specific features of an educational context shape the decisions a teacher makes in creating learning experiences/lesson plans in a particular context. 

Assessed using a coevaluation checklist for (target: specific features of the educational context that are observable in the lesson plan examined and participants’ interaction. (formative) 

In the reflection activity, teachers use a rubric to evaluate students' understanding of the rationale behind the choices the teacher made in creating the lesson plan and the collaborative skills used for the activity. (summative)  

2) Students will navigate verbal and non-verbal communication in a series of culturally focused tasks in a virtual exchange.
