Dr. José Valentino Ruiz, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Coordinator of the  UF Music Business & Entrepreneurship program, recently co-developed and served as editor of the BEST PRO Toolkit: Basic Entrepreneurial Steps Towards Professional Realisation & Organisation , an international resource officially published through the United Nations system. Developed in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Performing Arts Network for Empowerment Leadership in Zimbabwe (PANELZ), the toolkit equips artists and creative entrepreneurs with practical tools to formalize their enterprises, strengthen business sustainability, and promote decent work across Zimbabwe’s cultural and creative industries. Created under the Policy Advocacy for Creative Empowerment (PACE) project, the BEST PRO Toolkit integrates entrepreneurship training with the ILO’s global decent work framework and directly supports the implementation of Zimbabwe’s  National Cultural and Creative Industries Strategy (2020–2030).
