This summer, professor Tiza Garland taught a combined combat and movement workshop for students at the Free State Arts Festival and later taught 3 different multi-session workshops throughout a week at the University of the Free State. The workshops included a Consent Culture workshop, a stage combat workshop, and a Laban & Chekhov workshop. This opportunity was a very unique experience for the students and provided them with professional training that is rare in their country.
The experience was a success and the professor has been asked to consider returning to teach more workshops, or possibly perform, at the Free State Arts Festival and to return to do more multi-session workshops at the university.
