On Friday, February 9th, faculty gathered to learn a few “tricks of the trade” to recruit students to their Study Abroad programs.
Mike Weigold (Journalism), Jennifer Kaufman (IFAS), Phillip Kaufman (IFAS), Muthusami Kumaran (FYCS), and Angela Miller (Study Abroad) presented on topics such as marketing principles, articulating the value of your Study Abroad program, developing a marketing mindset, and the marketing toolkit. Faculty learned many ways to attract students to their programs, as well as other elements that make a successful program. J. Kaufman states, “It’s good to learn about other UF Sponsored Study Abroad programs because I can refer students who can’t participate in my program to other equally great programs led by UF faculty”.
