The Pasteur Institute of Guinea is once again honored to welcome Professor Anthony Maurelli, a renowned microbiologist and professor in the Department of Environmental and Global Health at the University of Florida. Since his first visit, an exceptional synergy has developed between him and the institute's bacteriology unit, headed by Dr. Alidehou Jerrold AGBANKPE.
This collaboration gave rise to the PuBCHEn project, "Public Health and Environment in Guinea: Capacity-Building," an ambitious program funded by the United States government through the Fulbright Specialist Program. This project aims to strengthen local capacities in public and environmental health, with a lasting impact on the Guinean health system.
Professor Maurelli's 20-day stay began with a strategic meeting with Mr. Miguel Boluda, Public Affairs Officer at the United States Embassy in Conakry, and Ms. Keita Aminata, Public Engagement Expert. This meeting marked the official launch of awareness-raising and training activities for healthcare professionals in Guinea.
This partnership embodies our vision of building bridges between science and action, between international expertise and local realities. Stay tuned for highlights of this inspiring mission.
