Virtual study abroad in Guatemala
Project Description:

This 10-day onsite and virtual study abroad in Guatemala was part of an eight week class studying contemporary issues in art education. Two graduate students along with three undergraduate students traveled to Guatemala and face-timed a selection of art making and cultural activities taking place throughout the 10 day study abroad trip dealing with different intercultural art experiences.  

Learning Outcomes:
  • Determine the cultural interdependencies between cultural identity and art
  • Expand global perspectives in art education
  • Develop cultural self-awareness and communicate effectively across cultures through working virtually with others from international locations. 
  • Engage in collaborative learning between site-based and virtual learning contexts.
