Jess Mercier serves as the Study Abroad unit's Assistant Director of Outreach & Marketing. In this role, she coordinates the biannual Study Abroad Fair; hosts events in partnership with campus partners (the Career Connections Center, First Generation Student Success, etc.); manages the unit's social media; and leads overall marketing strategy. She also advises students participating in Semester at Sea, studying in The Netherlands, or studying in Eastern Europe.
As an undergraduate student Jess participated in Semester at Sea, which visited several countries in Asia, Africa, and Europe. She then returned to the College of Charleston and earned her Bachelors degree in Political Science and Sociology. After deciding to pursue study abroad as a career, she earned her Masters degree in Student Affairs Administration from Ball State University. Outside of the office, Jess enjoys spending time with her dog, reading, and of course, traveling.
