Jess Mercier advises students going abroad to Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, and with Semester at Sea. She also serves as the office’s Coordinator for Outreach and Campus Engagement, hosting events in partnership with the Career Connections Center, First Generation Student Success, Counseling & Wellness, academic departments, and more. Jess also manages UFIC Scholarships and advises for national awards such as the Gilman.
As an undergraduate student Jess participated in Semester at Sea, which visited several countries in Asia, Africa, and Europe. She then returned to the College of Charleston and earned her Bachelors degree in Political Science and Sociology. After deciding to pursue study abroad as a career, she earned her Masters degree in Student Affairs Administration from Ball State University. Outside of the office, Jess enjoys spending time with her dog, reading, and of course, traveling.
