For the third year, UF was one of the few U.S. institutions selected to
participate in the program “Expanding and Embedding COIL Virtual Exchange at Honduran and Central American Universities,” a regional partnership initiative supported by the United States Embassy in Tegucigalpa. Two UF faculty were selected to participate in the program: Dr. Paula Golombek, Clinical Professor in the Department of Linguistics, and Dr. Antonio Sajid López, Associate Instructional Professor in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese Studies. Both were matched with professors at Universidad Estatal a Distancia in Costa Rica. Dr. Golombek's project will be embedded in LIN3680: Modern English Structure and Dr. López's in SPN3948: Spanish in the Community. Having just completed the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) workshop with their VE partners, they are now preparing to implement their VE projects in fall 2024.
Congratulations, Dr. Golombek and Dr. López on completing this VE design course and on your upcoming projects!
