Gainesville is welcoming back former Fulbright scholar Antti Miihkinen, who first arrived in the city a decade ago to conduct postdoctoral research in accounting. Now, he returns not for academia, but to compete in the World Masters Track and Field Championships—joined by his father, who is also competing.
Miihkinen, originally from Finland, is participating in an impressive array of events, including: Shot Put, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, Hammer Throw, Pole Vault, Long Jump
His father is also competing, focusing on the pole vault event. The competition brings together seasoned athletes from around the world, demonstrating skill and dedication across multiple disciplines.
