Ilaria Capua, DVM, PhD, has been selected as winner of the Hypatia Prize for Life and Health Sciences by the Barcelona Knowledge Hub of the Academia Europaea. The award recognizes an outstanding researcher who has conducted their career primarily in Europe and at the highest international level, with strong influence on various fields of knowledge and a positive impact on society.
Dr. Capua is a full professor in the Department of Animal Sciences, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, and Director of the One Health Center of Excellence, which aims to tackle international health challenges through interdisciplinarity.
