Audio Pronunciation Tool, "Namecoach" Launches this Week

UFIT Center for Instructional Technology & Training is pleased to announce that NameCoach will be enabled in Canvas next Wednesday, 9/28.

This tool provides students, faculty, and staff the ability to record the pronunciation of their name which Enables instructors, student services, advisers, and peers to be more respectful and inclusive in every interaction. It builds a sense of belonging and community across the campus as part to promote student persistence and achievement and demonstrates a commitment to equity and inclusion from the classroom to commencement. International Book Release by UF Prof. Abraham G. Hartzema

The Japanese translation of Ali Ayad and Prof. Abraham G. Hartzema entitled "Post-Authorization Safety Studies of Medicinal Products” was published recently by Elsevier Publishing House. Dr. Hartzema's colleagues at Keio University, Kyoto University, and Nagasaki University supervised the translation. Dr. Ayad was his Ph.D. student at UF and a Fulbright scholar from Iraq.

Jane Carrington PhD, RN, FAAN, FAMIA, Rene Love PhD, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNAP, FAANP and Michael Maymi DNP, CPNP-AC, CCRN, CNE from the College of Nursing recently presented at the 12th ICN - International Council of Nurses NP/APN Network Conference in beautiful Dublin, Ireland! There they presented on topics involving precision education for advanced practice registered nurses and how informatics improves practice. We heard there were plenty of crowds watching their presentations.

UF Gatorloop Team Participated in European Hyperloop Week in Netherlands

Undergraduate students from mechanical and aerospace engineering and electrical and computer engineering who are part of UF's Gatorloop team participated in European Hyperloop week in Delft and Hilversum, Netherlands.

The European Hyperloop Week is an annual international event dedicated to the ‘transport of the future, the Hyperloop. This event enables university students, guest speakers, companies and hyperloop enthusiasts to discuss the technology, feasibility and scalability of the Hyperloop.

UF School of Architecture and Urban Planning Hosted International Discussions on Adapting, Designing and Building Resilient Environments

"Resilience in the built environment" was the event held on June 27-28 by the research group of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Virtual Tec, together with the SHARE Research Laboratory of the University of Florida and with the support of the Florida Climate Institute.

Four lines of discussion were addressed in face-to-face and virtual mode in the following panels: key elements for a resilient and healthy environment in urban areas, tools for environmental management, community participation for resilient environments, and tools and methods in response to anthropogenic natural hazards.
