UF ascends to No. 6 in U.S. News & World Report rankings

GAINESVILLE, Florida -- U.S. News & World Report today named the University of Florida the No. 6 public university in the country, continuing the university’s upward trajectory and placing it on the cusp of reaching its top-five goal.

The announcement marks the fourth consecutive year UF rose in the rankings for public universities, advancing from No. 14 in 2017 to No. 6 today. During the same period, UF leapt from No. 50 to No. 30 on the U.S. News National Universities list, which includes both public and private institutions.

On June 25, 2020, the CSRRR hosted a webinar discussion on whether UF should mandate a course on race/anti-racism. UFIC Says Good-bye to Scott Davis

During a "crazy hat" themed farewell, the International Center celebrated Scott Davis’ UF/State of Florida retirement (23 years combined from UF and various State jobs) on his last day in the office, August 20, 2020.

Scott served at the English Language Institute, as well at UFIC’s International Student Services unit. Additionally, he successfully served as the Director of UFIC’s Exchange Visitors Services for the last 13 years. We wish Scott and his long-time partner, Harald, a great relocation in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Thank you, Scott, for all your contributions to the internationalization efforts at the University of Florida. We’ll see you in December!

Coray Colina Receives Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award to Mexico for a Research/Teaching Appointment

Congratulations to the department of chemistry professor Coray Colina who has received a Fulbright Scholar award for the 2020-201 academic year. Dr. Colina will conduct research on molecular chimeras for opioid receptor modulators and serve as a lecturer at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City.
