The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering has received a generous grant of $19,905 from Procter & Gamble to bolster initiatives aimed at internationalizing the engineering curriculum. Procter & Gamble's Higher Education Grant Program supports endeavors of regionally accredited U.S. colleges and universities to better equip students for success. Virtual Exchange Project Connected 26 UF Students with Students from University of Halabja

This Spring, twenty-six UF undergraduate students from across the university participated in the Global Solutions Conversations program. This virtual exchange project connected students from UF with students at the University of Halabja in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

During the six-week collaboration, students worked together to develop solutions to global issues based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Successful Visit by Ghanaian Delegation Creates Collaborations

During this visit, a discussion on "Ensuring Security and Democracy in West Africa: Ghana’s Role in Regional and International Cooperation," featured Hon. Albert Kan-Dapaah, Ghana’s Minister for National Security where he highlighted the deteriorating security situation in West Africa and its global consequences. The Minister discussed both the dangers and opportunities emerging from the rapidly changing regional situation and identified potential solutions from Ghana’s perspective that require homegrown regional initiatives and international support.

Several meetings were held towards developing goals for mutual support and academic collaboration.

Congratulations to the faculty members who successfully completed the Spring 2024 Global Learning Institute! This year's cohort had participants representing many disciplines across campus, including medicine, engineering education, business, education, theatre and dance, health and human performance, food science and human nutrition, psychology, journalism, and languages, literatures, and cultures. During this semester-long professional development program, they visited many campus resources in person, such as the museums and the libraries, and identified strategies for incorporating global learning elements into their courses in collaboration with these resources.

Latin American Virtual Exchange Experts visit UF

The Office of Global Learning and the Center for Latin American Studies welcomed Latin American COIL/Virtual Exchange experts, Dr. Ana Salomao from Sao Paulo State University (UNESP) in Brazil and Dr. Veronica Rodriguez from Universidad Veracruzana (UV) in Mexico to the UF campus last week.
