Two UFIC staff members, Taylor Bryla and Michael Kung, recently presented at the Florida Association of International Educators (FAIE) Conference, sharing their expertise on career readiness and international education opportunities.

Taylor Bryla, (Coordinator, International Scholars Program & Peace Corps Prep Program), led a session titled Enhancing Career Readiness and Global Learning with the Power of ePortfolios. This presentation highlighted how ePortfolios can be integrated into global learning programs to help students document and communicate their global competencies. Using UF’s International Scholars Program as a model, Taylor demonstrated how ePortfolios enhance students' employability by fostering intercultural communication, adaptability, and global awareness.

Michael Kung, Director and Assistant Scholar, Office for Global Research Engagement, presented Discovering the Transformative Power of the Fulbright International Education Administrators (IEA) Program, offering insights from his own experience in Taiwan. His session provided an overview of the Fulbright IEA program—available in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, France, Germany, and India—and emphasized its impact on cultural exchange, networking, and professional development. By sharing his journey, Michael aimed to inspire other higher education professionals to apply for this prestigious opportunity.

Through their presentations, Taylor and Michael contributed valuable knowledge to the field while strengthening UF’s leadership in global learning and professional development.

In addition to Taylor and Michael, UF attendees included Tikia Harris (UFIC), Melina Jimenez (ELI), Tate Quinones (ELI), Victoria Dolce (UFIC), and Christine Voigt (ELI). Their participation underscored UF’s commitment to advancing international education and professional development.
