The University of Florida welcomed the Consul General of Ireland in Miami, Sarah Kavanagh, and Vice Consul Caoimhe Ní Gabhann for a day of engagement and collaboration. The visit began with a reception at the UF International Center, followed by a series of meetings with university leadership and faculty.

Highlights included discussions with the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering on current and future partnerships with Irish institutions, a seminar on Irish–U.S. relations and the Working Holiday Visa, and a private lunch with students who have studied or interned in Ireland. The Consul General also met with President Kent Fuchs and faculty members involved in UF’s programs in Ireland.

The visit strengthened UF’s ties with Ireland and opened new doors for academic and cultural exchange.
