Dr. José Valentino Ruiz Was Also Named Among Billboard’s 2025 Latin Power Players
The Billboard Latin Power Players® distinction stands among the highest recognitions in the global music industry, honoring individuals whose creative output and leadership have generated measurable influence in the commercial marketplace. Selected among a distinguished cohort of twenty Frost School of Music alumni honorees worldwide, Dr. José Valentino Ruiz, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of Music Business & Entrepreneurship at the University of Florida, was recognized for his transformative contributions to the economic advancement of the Latin music sector through his extensive body of work as a producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer, and publisher contributing to internationally recognized recordings spanning classical, jazz, global, urban, and folk genres within the Latin music industry. These projects—many of which have earned GRAMMY® Awards, nominations, and global honors—have collectively expanded the reach, quality, and commercial success of Latin music on the world stage.
