This presentation explores the power of several feminist street performances denouncing gender-based violence and other social injustices during the 21st century in Puerto Rico. By looking at images and learning about the historical and sociopolitical contexts of the street performances, we will examine how they had an effect on other social movements and the politics of the island. An emphasis is given to bodies as sites of political action and island feminist theory and praxis.
