Gerardo Lopez

Gerardo Lopez is from Colombia and is a Ph.D. student in the Research and Evaluation Methodology (REM) program at the University of Florida College of Education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Cartagena-Colombia and a master’s degree in Mathematics Statistics from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez.

Taylor Simpson

Taylor Simpson is the Coordinator of the International Scholars Program and Peace Corps Prep Program. She holds an M.Ed. in Higher Education from Penn State University and a B.S. in International Affairs from Florida State University (FSU).

Anita Badhwar

Anita Badhwar is the Administrative Specialist I with the Office of Global Learning at the University of Florida International Center. Before joining the University of Florida, she worked as the International Education Coordinator at Santa Fe College, supporting the study abroad and international certificate programs. She grew up in Canada and attended the University of Toronto, where she received her B.A. in Economics. She also holds a M.Sc. in Management from the University of Florida. In 2012, Anita pursued her lifelong dream of writing a children’s book series focused on India.

Carrie Martins

Carrie Martins is the Coordinator of Faculty Development Initiatives in the Office of Global Learning in the UF International Center (UFIC). Prior to joining UFIC, she served as an academic advisor in UF’s College of Journalism and Communications, a role she began in October 2020. Previously, she worked in Penn State University’s Office of Global Programs, first with international student programming and support, then as an education abroad advisor. Carrie also has experience working with students in Brazil and is fluent in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
