For over 130 years, the American Academy in Rome has awarded the Rome Prize to support innovative and cross-disciplinary work in the arts and humanities. Each year, about thirty outstanding artists and scholars are selected to pursue creative and scholarly projects in Rome. The fellowship provides time, space, and a vibrant international community in which recipients can advance their work and exchange ideas across disciplines.The application portal for the 2026 Rome Prize competition is now open. The deadline for applying will be November 1, 2025, with an extended deadline of November 15 for an additional fee.
