Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Shauna is part of a multi-generational U.S. Army family. Her journey includes exposure to many different cultures and languages, shaped by her Army experiences, as well as civilian travels.
As the Enrollment and Credit Transfer Specialist, Shauna might be your initial point of contact for general study abroad inquiries at the International Center.
Shauna's interests in travel and languages led her to the Defense Language Institute as part of her Army career, laying the foundation for her later achievement of a BA in Spanish from the University of Florida. Shauna's interest in travel shows through her many journeys, which include more than half of the United States and 8 countries, such as Panama, Germany, Austria, and more.
Outside the office, Shauna is not only an AFOL (Adult Fan of Legos) but also a hands-on enthusiast for home improvement projects. She is also transforming her front yard into a butterfly garden, creating a sanctuary for bees, butterflies, and birds.
