The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) announced that Dr. Russell Ivy, Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), is the winner of the 2025 Malone International Award. The Malone Award, a national honor sponsored by APLU and given annually, recognizes individuals who advance international education at public universities.
“Congratulations to Russell Ivy on winning the 2025 Michael P. Malone International Leadership Award,” said APLU President Mark Becker. “As a champion of international engagement for more than 30 years, his work to advance global impact and international collaboration has enhanced FAU’s education, research, and community engagement mission and helped bolster critical international engagement in the higher education sector.”
In his current role as interim provost, Dr. Ivy oversees the Center for Global Engagement, which he founded nearly a decade ago. While serving as associate provost for academic programs, Dr. Ivy led the creation of a central hub to support the “Global Perspectives and Participation” platform of the university’s 2015-2025 strategic plan. He worked to centralize all academic international activities under this umbrella and align resources needed to help international students succeed.
