The University of Florida welcomed the Consul General of Ireland in Miami, Sarah Kavanagh, and Vice Consul Caoimhe Ní Gabhann for a day of engagement and collaboration. UF Warrington College of Business Matherly Professor Dr. Anuj Kumar developed an AI-enabled EdTech platform called EPInc, which identifies students’ knowledge gaps and intelligently connects them with peers who can help. EPInc has been implemented with over 7,000 students across 24 schools in 13 cities spanning five states in India.

The University of Florida International Center (UFIC) hosted Dr. Sam Oh, Distinguished Chair Professor of Global Affairs at Sung Kyun Kwan University (SKKU), South Korea. Dr. Oh’s visit featured a series of meetings with key UF stakeholders, including UFIC Study Abroad and Exchange Visitor Services, the Graduate School, and the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.

The day included a reception at the UFIC and collaborative discussions with faculty and staff exploring avenues for academic exchange and global partnership. This visit reflects UFIC’s continued commitment to fostering international collaboration and global engagement.

Last week, UNICollaboration showcased Paloma Rodriguez and Sebastian Rodriguez from the University of Florida to explore how their institution leverages #VirtualExchange as a key strategy for Internationalization at Home (I@H).

Rodriguez shared insights into UF’s approach, highlighting how Virtual Exchange (VE) fosters global learning experiences without the need for travel.

A huge thank you to all the speakers—Prof. Pedro Malavet, Dr. Samuel Quiñones, and Lic. Rolando Emmanuelli—for sharing their time and insights during Puerto Rico Perspectives at the Levin College of Law. The audience was captivated by the discussion, and it was clear the event provided a meaningful and timely update on the Island.

Kudos to Lauren, Kelly, and the UEPA team for organizing such a successful gathering! UFIC is always proud to support events that bring students, faculty, and staff together for impactful conversations. The Office of Global Learning is pleased to announce the award winners for the first annual Global Learning Excellence Awards. The awardees were honored at an awards banquet on April 1st, 2025, where they were recognized for their significant contributions and impact in supporting OGL’s mission of ensuring all UF students have opportunities to gain global perspectives and engage in international interactions, without the need to travel abroad.
