The 2023 AIEA Leadership Academy for New Senior International Officers is an intimate, selective, and intensive Academy with deep learning on issues relating to leading internationalization. Participants build a strong network of peers and develop action plans addressing challenges and opportunities in internationalizing their institutions. Karen Reed, MSN, DHSc, RN, CNE, CNL, CRRN, Clinical Assistant Professor in the UF College of Nursing has been selected by the US State Department as a US Fulbright Specialist to conduct a faculty development project with Vin University in Hanoi, Vietnam during the Summer of 2023. Dr. Reed will spend 5 weeks collaborating with Vietnamese faculty on teaching methods and test prep strategies. Crystal Marull, Ph.D., Lecturer of Online Spanish / Spanish and Portuguese Studies, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has received UF's Online Educator of the Year Award in recognition of high-quality course design that improves student engagement, student learning, and student satisfaction. Dr. Marull will be UF’s nominee for the newly created State University System President’s Award for online teaching. The UF International Center staff had a productive time at Lake Wauburg Park. UFIC stepped back from regular daily activities to discuss its mission, vision, plans, and goals to help inform a strategic plan and future decisions. The Fulbright Association of North Florida Chapter got together recently to build community and network at One Love Cafe in Gainesville.
