Professor Ilaria Capua’s recently published book on the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic has reached number one on the non-fiction bestseller list in Italy. Il Dopo: Il virus che ci ha constretto cambiare mappa mentale (Afterwards : The virus that has forced us to change our mental maps) is a call to action so as to make fundamental changes for a more sustainable world in the aftermath of the pandemic . Professor Capua is Professor and Director of the One Health Center of Excellence at UF. A veterinarian by training, she is a world-renowned virologist specializing in influenza viruses. She is also a former member of the Italian parliament.

The Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) announced on May 28, 2020 that Raymond Mailhot Vega, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute, was named a recipient of ASCO’s prestigious Conquer Cancer Global Oncology Foundation Young Investigator Award.

The award, a one-year grant of $50,000 given annally to promising investigators, encourages and promotes quality research in clinical oncology. Dr....

International Trivia was organized by Graduate Student Organization (GSO) of Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department (ABE), as part of their mentoring program. ABE has a mentoring program to ensure a smooth transition of all newly admitted graduate students every year. As part of the online weekly graduate meetings, a fun international trivia was organized by Graduate Student Organization on Zoom, with all graduate mentors and mentees, using Kahoot, a game-based online learning platform. Trivia theme was based on world cultures, foods, languages and other topics.
