Japanese Club's Annual Spring Festival Brings Culture and Fun to UF

The UF Japanese Club, in collaboration with the UF International Center, hosted a lively Spring Festival, Harumatsuri, on March 28, 2025, at the Reitz Union outdoor Tabling Area. 

The event featured a variety of engaging cultural activities, including calligraphy, yukata try-ons, and interactive tabling experiences. Attendees had the chance to participate in trivia, fan-decorating, and origami at the J-Club activity tables.

Landscape Architecture Students Achieve Distinction in International Design Competition

Three students enrolled in the University of Florida’s College of Design, Construction, and Planning Landscape Architecture Implementation Studio have had their designs recognized in an international competition held in Portugal this year.

The theme of this year’s competition was “Garden of Peace: Garden for Peace.”

Former Fulbright Scholar Returns to Gainesville to Compete in World Masters Track & Field

UF International Students Represent Gators in Recent NASA Space Trek Academy

A group of University of Florida (UF) international students recently participated in the Space Trek Academy. In this program, UF  students joined as one large team, with smaller technical units to successfully launch and retrieve a weather balloon, with a payload that travels up to 100,000 feet. 

Students learned about subjects such as meteorology, telemetry and how NASA takes different variables into account to perform millions of calculations, very similar to these. They also learned about payload integration and how to plan and efficiently carry out a weather balloon launch.
