The George A. Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida received a grant award from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to expand newspaper digitization efforts and continue participating in the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP). This is the fifth NDNP award the Libraries have received since 2013, bringing the combined project total to nearly $1.5 million.

Bron Taylor, Professor of Religion and Nature at the University of Florida, was invited to join the editorial board of Ecocene: Cappadocia Journal of Environmental Humanities. Ecocene is a digital, open-access, peer-reviewed, international, and transdisciplinary Turkish journal of the Environmental Humanities that aims to develop new insights and theories about the current material and conceptual challenges in the field. UF Gators Represent 14 Foreign Countries in Tokyo Olympics

The Tokyo Olympics are finally underway and a total of 31 former and current University of Florida athletes are competing in eight different sports. The 2021 games mark the Gators’ third-most participated Olympics. Fifteen of this year's Gators will be representing their home countries, once again demonstrating that the Gator Nation is global.
