To be considered for any of the following scholarships, students complete one general application. Note that students may not be awarded a UFIC scholarship more than twice during their studies at UF. - NEW!Dean's Access Study Abroad Scholarship
Awarded to students with documented financial need studying abroad on a summer/semester program ($3,000) or a short-term program ($1,500).
- UFIC Semester/Academic Year Scholarship
Awarded to students studying abroad for a semester (up to $1,500) or academic year (up to $3,000).
- UFIC Summer Scholarships
Awarded to students studying abroad for a summer (up to $1,000).
- UF Sponsored Summer Short Term Scholarships
Awarded to students studying abroad on a UF Sponsored program that is less than 26 days OR less than 6 credits (up to $500).
- UFIC Summer Merit Scholarships
Students studying abroad in the summer who have a minimum 3.5 GPA are eligible for this award (up to $1,000).
- Wentworth Honors Scholarships
Awarded to active members of the UF Honors Program with a 3.5 UF GPA or higher studying abroad for a summer ($1500) or fall/spring semester or academic year ($2000).
- Herbert Wertheim Engineering Scholarships
Students studying abroad who are in the Herbert Werheim College of Engineering are eligible for this award (up to $1,500). Please note that if you are studying on a Spring Break or Spring Short-Term program, you will need to apply under our "Spring" scholarship application and adhere to its corresponding deadline. Note that graduate students are eligible for this award and should apply via the UFIC Scholarships application, although they are not eligible for the other scholarships listed on this page.
- The Sones Scholarship
The Sones Scholarship for study in France is made possible by a generous gift from Dr. Peter Sones and Mrs. Lindsey Sones. The aim of this scholarship is to provide an opportunity for UF students to earn academic credit towards their degree in an environment that also provides immersion in French culture and/or language. This unique scholarship is open to UF undergraduates with a minimum 2.5 GPA who plan to undertake courses in their major or minor through study abroad in France. Students who elect to participate in a credit-bearing research project at a French institute are also eligible to apply. Selected Sones Scholars will be awarded up to $3,500 for a semester program and up to $2,500 for a summer program. (Donate here.)
- Learning without Borders Study Abroad Scholarship
Awarded to students who are Federal Pell Grant recipients and who are studying abroad in the summer/semester (up to $3,000) or on a short-term UF Sponsored program (up to $1,500). To be considered, eligible students must indicate they are a Pell Grant recipient within the UFIC Scholarship application.
- David and Becky Sammons Scholarship
Former UFIC Dean Dr. David Sammons and his wife Becky established this scholarship in order to help students accomplish their education abroad goals. This scholarship is awarded to one student with a minimum of a 3.5 GPA, who is attending a UF Sponsored Summer program with a unique location ($1,000).
