Zoe D'Alessandro

Originally from Melbourne Beach, Zoe earned her B.A. and M.A. in Italian Studies from Florida State University. She is very passionate about her Italian-American heritage and has traveled all over Italy (Florence, Milan, Solaro, Perugia), learning the language and enjoying the culture. She has also traveled to Germany and Egypt and hopes to visit Southern Italy soon, where her family is from.

Amila Tica

Amila Tica moved to Gainesville in 2013 to pursue her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (Europe track) and English, as well as her minors in French & Francophone Studies and History from the University of Florida. While pursuing her degree, she began working for the International Center as a student assistant, and upon graduation in 2017 began working full time for the UFIC Office of Undergraduate Academic Programs as a Program Assistant and then the UFIC Office of Global Learning as a Program Support Specialist.

Luis Johnson

Luis, originally from Brazil, holds a law degree from PUC-Goias, Brazil, and a Master of Law (LL.M.) from Loyola University New Orleans. He began his career as an attorney in Brazil before relocating to the United States to specialize in immigration law, driven by his fascination with the U.S. legal perspective. During his time at Loyola, Luis engaged in various pro bono cases, including asylum cases, further deepening his commitment to immigration advocacy and cross-cultural understanding.

Jennifer North

Originally from Jacksonville, Jennifer earned her B.A. and M.A. in Latin American Studies at the University of Miami. She spent her time in Miami immersed in the dynamic, international culture of the city and globetrotting across Latin America. Throughout her travels, she lived with a Quechua family on the Bolivian countryside, interned in Cartago, Costa Rica, and studied in downtown Santiago, Chile. She also traveled to Panama, Haiti, Peru, Argentina, and Uruguay. Jennifer cannot wait to visit more countries in Latin America and beyond!

Maryshelly Quinones

Maryshelly Quinones is the UFIC Insurance advisor. She has worked at UFIC since 2010, assisting all the F visa status international students and J visa status students, scholars, and student interns with insurance compliance and questions about health insurance issues. She was born in Puerto Rico and later moved to the US.
