The UF International Center welcomed Samba Dieng, Ed.D., Senior Internationalization Officer at Louisiana State University, for the inaugural session of the Innovations in International Education speaker series. Dieng, originally from Senegal and a former international student himself, shared insights on “One World, Many Stories: Innovative Study Abroad Initiatives at LSU”, highlighting best practices in international education.
During an inspiring talk, Dieng shared about LSU’s innovative study abroad initiatives, such as Global Ambassadors and Study Abroad for Student-Athletes. Dieng heads the Office of Global Engagement and provides leadership and expertise on global engagement initiatives across the university.
Originally from Senegal, Dieng came to the US as an undergraduate international student; this experience inspired his commitment to global education.
The series, featuring three special guests this fall, aims to inspire and inform UF faculty and staff about global engagement and study abroad opportunities.
