"Staying Cyber Secure While Studying Abroad" was released as a successful collaboration between UF Information Technology and UFIC Study Abroad Services.

The two departments teamed up to provide some basic tips on how to stay cyber-safe while studying or interning abroad.

One of the most important advice is to not connect to public Wi-Fi, if possible. Although public Wi-Fi is convenient to use, it is not secure. According to Forbes, four in 10 people have had their private information compromised while using public Wi-Fi.

This project has been literally months in preparation. March 2022, I was accepted to the US Fulbright Specialist roster. Unlike the US Fulbright Scholar Program, which I was fortunate to do 2013-2014, the Specialist must seek out a project designed by an international university for which they are a good match OR collaborate with the university in designing a project. Time was ticking as in order to get in the two maximum projects, I HAD to find a project for Summer 2023.

Gator Nursing faculty Jeanne-Marie Stacciarini is making an impact in Brazil! She recently arrived in Rio de Janeiro to support education in advanced nursing practice. Dr. Stacciarini also met with faculty and staff from Federal Fluminense University, as well as its president!

For her final stop in Brazil, #GatoRNursing faculty Jeanne-Marie Stacciarini met with several stakeholders in Belo Horizonte who are important to the development of Brazilian advanced practice registered nursing. Prof. Shiva Gautam, Professor of Biostatistics at UF Health - Jax received a Fulbright Award to Nepal for 2023-2024.

Gautman will be in Nepal for 5 months, from August to December 2023. The grant is for both teaching and researching at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, a medical school located in the sub-metropolitan city of Dharan in Sunsari District.
